The Day I Quit By Mistake

So I just got home and I’m trying to relax after a long day of work that  almost cost me a foot.
Anyway, I receive this very formal text in French from a number which is not in my contacts. It says : ‘Hi Hadi. Didn’t hear what you thought of your day. Blablabla. Is it ok if you work 5 days next week?’
This week I actually had a job interview with a French. Since I was not interested in this job (fundraising for an NGO in the streets), I just text him back : I found another job. Thank you.
Then this number try to call me.
I don’t pick up, afraid it will be an annoying and awkward chat. I try to listen to the voice mail he left but there are so many settings to do  first to access the answer maching that I give up. Three days later… I’m thinking : ‘Maybe I should listen…’ Under the theory : You never know.
So I do the settings, record my greeting message, etc.
And finally I hear the message.
His voice is so different than during the interview… Oh God ! That’s not him! That’s my manager!
I quit my job 3 days ago by text!!! Half laughing, half horrified I try to call and leave him a message.
He calls me back, I explain the whole thing and got my job back.
